Census Design Collective Brand Identity

brief

Second year university project, aiming to develop students' abilities to initiate content as well as responding to pre-composed briefs. Each student needed to create a brand for a novel design studio, as if they were launching this studio themselves. The studio's values were to be communicated through a designed manifesto presented in both a physical and video format.

Solution

I have responded to this brief with Census, a community-based design collective aiming to provide access to design education and creative careers to underrepresented individuals. My manifesto 'If Money Doesn't Matter...' is comprised of six key points, with each one addressing a current issue within the design industry that may impact the underrepresented clientele of this collective, communicated with a boxed collection of business cards to be distributed in community spaces and a typography-focused motion graphic for digital spaces. I have additionally created a social media presence for the collective, allowing advice and workshops to reach a wider audience.
