The Duck and Rice Campaign Design
brief
The Duck and Rice are an established Chinese gastropub in Soho, who were in the process of opening their second restaurant in Battersea Power Station for their 10th anniversary, and needed to run two campaigns simultaneously. The 10th anniversary campaign was to be social-focused, while promotion of the new restaurant extended to on-site totem ads in Battersea and offer flyers to increase local reach.
Solution
In response to the requirement for two concurrent campaigns, I adapted the client's extensive existing brand guidelines into two distinct styles to differentiate the campaigns. The Battersea launch campaign was inspired by editorial designs due to the announcement style of the majority of the required assets, making bold usage of the brands' existing type and colour palette to draw the attention of a geographically new audience. The 10th anniversary campaign was focused around the 10 dishes of The Duck and Rice, and to complement the subject matter I created an analogue stamp design to feature on each graphic, with a static and motion variation of this motif created and a consistent patterned background style to tie the campaign graphics together.
